Although the Because They Waited™ program was originally designed with adoptive parents in mind, foster families find the material to be just as important- if not more important for them. Why? Because as foster families, you have the added challenge of trying to build trust and attachment with children in what are often temporary placements.

Because They Waited™ helps to make sense of not only WHY foster and adoptive children struggle in some areas, but more importantly WHAT TO DO ABOUT IT; how to go about parenting in everyday life in a way that promotes positive brain development, trust, attachment and more.

Because They Waited™ education system covers topics pertinent to individuals adopting a baby or an older child, internationally, domestically, or through foster care.  Modules present "The Science" in a user-friendly format, followed by "The Parenting" which offers concrete parenting tools. "Wrap-Up and Resources" as well as study materials are provided for each topic.

This package is recommended for all foster care families and professionals and includes access, testing and certificates for two parents for 12 hours of adoption education.
