This one hour course helps parents and teachers to understand and address the unique needs that children who join their families through adoption often bring to the classroom.

Topics include:

understanding why these children often have special education needs

recognizing needs and  discerning classroom management techniques that will meet those needs while building skills

understanding special education laws and how families access services

creating a positive adoption climate

developing a constructive parent/ teacher rapport
