Opening Up Open Adoption

Opening Up Open Adoption is a three hour course that examines openness in adoption. The course considers openness from the viewpoints of adoptive parents, birth parents, adoption professionals, and adult adoptees. It addresses both theoretical and practical aspects of openness in adoption. Participants explore what open adoption might look like before and after the adoption, the individual nature of openness, benefits, challenges and more.

Do you wonder if you're cut out for an open adoption?

Are you ready to think about what openness really is and how it applies to individual families?

Do you want to hear from people who have lived it such as adoptive parents, birth parents and adult adoptees?

Do you question whether openness it's truly "best" for the child and want to explore the potential benefits and challenges?

Would you like to explore how openness works, how it affects children's identity, security and the family in general?

The creators of Opening Up Open Adoption went beyond talking to a few experts, adoptive parents, birthparents or a panel of several adoptees. Hundreds of individuals whose lives and professions are touched by adoption lent their knowledge and experiences to the course, including results from our survey in which 281 adult adoptees shared their unique perspectives.

Your purchase of this online course provides access for two parents to receive certificates of completion for 3 hours of education.
